Jesus “J.D.” Moises was born and raised in Miami, FL. Mr. Moises attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, the University of Florida on a full scholarship under the Florida Bright Futures Program where he completed his undergraduate studies, and St. Thomas University School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree.
While at St. Thomas University School of Law, Mr. Moises was Vice President of and a national competitor on the renown Mock Trial Team. Mr. Moises was also a member of the Cuban American Student Bar Association, Public Interest Law Students Association, and the Student Bar Association. Mr. Moises continued serving his community by participating in Habitat for Humanity builds as well as many other projects. During his time at St. Thomas, Mr. Moises clerked with various firms in Miami, gaining invaluable litigation experience in the fields of complex class-action litigation, criminal law, family law, real estate, first-party property insurance claims, and general civil litigation.
Mr. Moises continued his career after graduating law school by joining a firm whose practice was heavily centered on complex class-action litigation, mainly focused securing damages for thousands of clients across Florida’s Gulf Coast with regard to the BP Oil Spill Multi-District Class Action Settlement, one of the largest environmental disasters in the history of the United States.
Mr. Moises then indulged his entrepreneurial ambitions by opening his own law practice as the founding partner of Moises Law, P.A. where his litigation practice covered a wide-range of matters such as business and real estate litigation, contractual disputes, corporation, partnership, and joint venture disputes, non-compete agreements, all types of insurance disputes, personal injury, investment advising, crisis management, and various family law matters. During this time, Mr. Moises secured substantial recoveries for his clients through the litigation process and settlements totaling millions of dollars. Mr. Moises also represented and advised clients on transactional matters including real estate transactions and asset purchase transactions. Mr. Moises’s practice quickly grew and through a strategic partnership with friends and colleagues, Nathan Teplitsky and Daniel Gross, became known as Moises, Teplitsky, & Gross.
Mr. Moises is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts as well as in the United States District Court Southern District of Florida and is also a licensed realtor having represented both residential and commercial clients.
